Top 3 sizzling home products of the summer
I have a zeal for trying innovative and exceptional body products. Here are a few of my favorites this summer.
I am not a huge fan of tanning. After trying many self-tanners I have found something better — Black Stockings by Lush. It is basically a solid lotion bar that you rub where you want to be tan, giving you an instant color. Black Stockings has a very soft spicy smell. Lush also makes Silk Stockings for lighter skin tones. It is available at Lush stores and online at Lush.com. Lush offers everything from perfume to salt scrubs to shampoo bars. Their Black Stockings body tint costs $9.95 for one ounce.
At the end of a hard summer day, nothing feels as good as taking a tropical vacation in your bathroom. This is what Bubbles Up By Bethie B summer soaps are like. Simply put, it’s paradise.
Each bar of soap I ordered is handcrafted and pure luxury. I got a variety of scents including Tropical Cocktail, a pina colada-scented soap topped with real coconut, and Refreshing Coconut Lime Verbena topped with real coconut.
Owner Beth Whitney decided to work with soap — glycerin-based and hot processed — because she had a hard time finding soap that worked with sensitive skin. Her sister sent her a book on how to make soap.
She was off and “cooking.”
“A lot of my bakery choices come from childhood memories of tasty treats,” she said. “Chocolate-covered cherry is one of my dad’s favorite holiday sweets. My sisters and I loved pineapples coated in sugar, mint chocolates, jelly donuts, coffee cakes skin.”
The soaps vary in size but are generous and their prices hover around $5. Check out her store Bubbles Up By Bethie B on Etsy.com.
When summer heat is at record highs, it is essential to smell fresh…good fresh. I personally have had a hard time finding a deodorant that will last all day. Before Monkey Pitts, I was afraid to hug, get close to people and even ride in a car with family. But this stuff works. I can hug with no trepidation.
Creator Jacqueline Ayers said her product has also found a niche with people who are undergoing radiation treatment. Radiation patients can’t use deodorants with metal or aluminum alloys in them.
There are many scents such as lilac, apple cobbler, Hawaiian punch, and more. Monkey Pitts is not the classic stick deodorant. It comes in a tub and you put it on like you would lotion.
Ayers also sells bath bombs, whipped body butter and a plethora of essential oil spa goodies. Her products are on Etsy.com at Tubbilicious It costs $6.25 for 3.5 ounces.
