Greenville Rotary Club sets Rhythm on the River schedule

GREENVILLE — The Greenville Rotary Club has announced the schedule for “Rhythm on the River”, its summer concert series held at the gazebo at Tower Riverside Park on Franklin Street.

This is the 27th year that the club has sponsored the free concerts that will be held on Thursday evenings from 7:30 to 9 p.m. through Danish Festival week.

The series will open on June 6 with the Greenville High School Jazz Band. The Robin Connell Trio will follow June 13. The Gravelridge Band will be here the June 20 and The Adams Family will fill out the June schedule on June 27. In July, the schedule will include The Sea Cruisers, The Tom Hagen Trio, Mulebone and Mary Rademacher and the Rad Pack. August dates will be filled by The Cherry Blossom Ramblers, The Flat River Big Band and the Danish Festival Band and ice cream social.

On July 4, the Rotary Club will highlight their water purification project for the Dominican Republic. There will be refreshments and all donations will go towards purchasing purification equipment. The Sea Cruisers will be the entertainment.

The cost of “Rhythm on the River” is covered by the Rotary Club and the generous contributions from area businesses, industries and individuals. If anyone wishes to contribute, contact Paul Warnshuis at (616) 754-9126.
