The staff at Green Acres is busy preparing for its second annual HeArt Prize event to be held January 17-23, 2013, and have renamed the event HeArt Prize to more closely reflect the feelings that have come with this event. The 2013 HeArt Prize promises to be bigger and better with additional judging categories, as well as, an artist “Meet and Greet” to be held on Saturday, January 19, 2013.
In addition to the Child Category, ages 12 and under, and the Open Category (any age), a new category for teen’s, ages 13-18, is being added. There will be a first, second and third place winner in each division that will be determined by the visitors who attend each day; each guest may vote once daily. Prizes in the Child and Teen categories are $75, $50, and $25. In the Open category prizes will be $250, $200, and $150.
There will also be a Resident’s Choice award that will be determined by Green Acres residents, and an Artist Circle Award that will be chosen by a selected group of local artists.

Entry deadline is Friday, January 11, 2013. There is no charge to enter, but donations will be accepted for the Alzheimer’s Association.
