Salvador Dalí, one of the masters of European Surrealism, created the Twelve Tribes of Israel portfolio in 1973 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the founding of the State of Israel.

These hand-colored dry points depict the Biblical tribes founded by the twelve sons of Jacob as the tribal fathers of the Hebrew people.

The delicate lines, bright colors, and poetic imagery of the series represent some of the famous characteristics of Dalí’s talent.
