I love a book with good illustrations, morals, silly words, imagination and a touch of nerd (in this case aliens in outer space). I highly suggest picking up this book to read to your toddler.
Jimmy is desperate to have his favorite snack — a Moon Pie — so he goes to outer space in his homemade jalopy and visits Mr. Moon for some. Mr. Moon is very generous, but when Jimmy and his new martian friends are faced with a monster, Jimmy knows just how to save the day — he shares!
Don’t worry kids, Jimmy gets his Moon Pie in the end — after a healthy dinner.
My daughter loves this book, it is so fun to read; silly words and sound effects – however if you are not big on reading out loud, it might not be a good fit for you. She also loves the illustrations. There are so many details in the images and we spend a long time on the pages looking for little things that make the paintings in this book unique. This book is very engaging and so much fun.
Warning: you will have to hunt down a box of Moon Pies for your kids. Violet (my 3 year old) insisted on having them for dessert a few times and looks for the moon whenever we are outside now.
This book, which, in our house, we call it “Moon Pies,” is a fun book that will have you and your kids yelling “Zip Pip Kaboodle” in no time.
